This maps aims to describe how a very significant proportion of the population on the continent is 19 or under. in fact, we see that 30 countries out of the 57 represented have at least 50% of between 0 and 19 years old. The map visualises the proportion of the 0 to 19 years old in comparison to the total population of each country (through the choropleth) with a focus on the 15 most populated countries on the continent (through the proportional squares). Some countries with the highest proportion of 0-19 years old, such as the Central African Republic (61%), Niger (58%), Chad (57%) and Mali (57%) for exemple, are not represented by the squares here as their total population is smaller than other countries.
