Hello. I’m Christophe.

I work as an Agroecologist and therefore take a holistic approach of the food system. What motivates me most is to find solutions using multi-disciplinary knowledge and participatory methods, working with people from different fields and different walks of life.

I specialized in the agroecological development and redesign of farming systems but I always strive to connect the agro-ecological aspect to the socio-economic, and cultural ones.

Though I enjoy working on many different aspects of agriculture and food systems I do have a particular interest in seeds (especially informal seed systems and collective actions), biodiversity and soil health.

I hold a MSc in Agroecology from Isara-Lyon (France) and a MSc in Organic Agriculture from Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands). My Masters thesis was on informal seed systems in Ethiopia. Previous to that, I did a BSc in Human Geography with the Open University in the U.K.

I have had a previous career in IT (data, web development and GIS). I have also worked with social enterprises. I have managed projects and people and also ran my own business.

On a more personal side, I love running, climbing and hiking. If by any chance I am able to do those while traveling, I’m happy. I have lived, studied and worked in 8 countries and on 4 continents and thoroughly enjoy learning about new cultures.
